Buddy's Story

Buddy has been coming to RHBC for a few months.  He sent me this note last week and said I could share it with the church.  It was unsolicited, and it truly made my week:

The reason for this letter is two fold 1 is to tell my story the 2nd is to let the folks at RHB to know that in my opinion GOD has sent us a very special person as I speak of Danny Rollins. Here goes and and if I didnt live it would not believe it. It started with a class a RHB for finance where my wife conned me in to going.(liked it though) Through the class and a very good freind of hers she started attending church on sunday,you guessed it conned again. We went and I raised catholic attending catholic schools I was nicely surprised at the people and the attitude at service so friendly,the music great with that said when Danny started to preach it was like he was talking to me. I love going to church-- thats right never thought I would say that. As time went on I got closer  to GOD. Danny talked to me like I was his freind forever like he knew I was troubled,hard for me to  understand skeptable at first boy did that change. I received a call at home that was very upsetting to where I loaded a pistol and was going to end a mans life. I went back to the bedroom sat on the bed to put the conceled holster on and I live to tell you could not get off the bed  thought maybe nerves WRONG as later I would know it was GOD who wouldnt let me up thank you GOD for that. The next sunday at church Danny came to my wife and I and said he and Leann would like to come to the house I immedietly thought my wife told Dan but no she did not.Did not know what to think they came over talked awhile told them what happened,that is when I learned and knew it had to be GOD as I have no other explenation. Before they left Danny asked if I would pray with him to recieve CHRIST I said sure why not,the longer we prayed the hotter I physically got to where I almost said stop,when we where done I felt so good and told them about how hot I was they along with my precious wife started laughing I said not so funny the devil coming to get me no they said as they told me blessing from HOLYSPIRIT I am so thankfull for all of you at RHB and very thankfull to GOD for bringing the wife and I to church. And I thank God every day for letting me meet Danny and his family at RHB.   SIGNED THANKFULL

“Two little lines I heard one day, Traveling along life’s busy way;
Bringing conviction to my heart, And from my mind would not depart;
Only one life, ’twill soon be past, Only what’s done for Christ will last.

Only one life, yes only one, Soon will its fleeting hours be done;
Then, in ‘that day’ my Lord to meet, And stand before His Judgement seat;

Only one life, the still small voice, Gently pleads for a better choice
Bidding me selfish aims to leave, And to God’s holy will to cleave;

Only one life, a few brief years, Each with its burdens, hopes, and fears;
Each with its clays I must fulfill, living for self or in His will;

When self would seek to have its way, Then help me Lord with joy to say;
